By Justin Tyler
I have read some of the reviews here before purchasing the player and in spite of being admonished of all the cons, i decisive to take a gamble for it is price and Creative's brand name. I had a great deal of original difficulties with the Bluetooth feature with the M300 but these were resolved when I upgraded the firmware to the latest one (1.00.16) from the Creative website. There are a lot of things that this player cannot do but for those that it can, it does it beauteous well.

By Molotov Mocktail
FIRST THINGS FIRST / TIPS:
1. Download the latest firmware from Creative's help webpage. What I got was in all probability the middle batch at 1.00.09. The latest firmware is 1.00.16 and comparatively easy to update.
2. Don't press the so-called "buttons" with brute force. Just make sure your finger taps the markings gently and you'll be fine.

POSITIVES:
1. Very easy Bluetooth pairing routine (enter the universal default code of 0000). It remembers your paired widgets after switching off and automati connects to the last paired device (it does take among 5 and 10 seconds to reconnect and begin streaming your music thru BT)
2. Commands (play/pause/track selection/volume) don't lag by way of Bluetooth and overall, the player works perfectly with my car speaker and headphones
3. Drag-and-drop songs into the "Music" folder. I hate itunes style syncing so this is actually in truth useful.
4. Good battery life for my commutes and long/medium haul flights
5. Mac aid (officially it only supports Windows but I could drag-and-drop songs from my Macbook Air into the player, as well as from my Windows PC of course)
6. Simple, easy-to-use interface even without calling for the manual
7. FM Radio but only with a wired headphones connection
8. Value for money

NEGATIVES:
1. Short USB cable (ok to charge by way of your PC's USB but not too practical from a wall socket)
2. Average quality included earphones but I guess not a single soul in truth uses stock earphones anyway so this might not bother you that much
3. Mediocre video but on such a tiny screen nothing's going to look good. Probably the screen's only meant for album art (there's a video included with a making something publicly available of a heap of Creative merchandise but it's so tiny.. why do they even include it??).
4. No FM Radio over Bluetooth (this function requires an antenna, which are your wired earphones... so you can't stream radio wirelessly)

EVALUATION:
It's not a perfective product but at this price point it does deliver what I need (Bluetooth and drag-and-drop capabilities). Obviously there are flaws but are in general those that I won't lose sleep over. If you're looking to stretch your dollar (nothing to be penitent of in this economy!) and don't like to get ripped off, this is the product for you. If you like to splurge, you'll know that there are other more glamorous options.

By TomK1
The Creative Zen Style M300 is a decent little MP3 player with ambitions to become a low-cost substitute to the iPod. Out of the box, you get the player (which is nicely styled), a USB cable, and a lot of headphones. Truthfully, I didn't undertake the headphones, as they're basic, cheap in-ear headphones. For comparison sake, I applied my Koss PortaPros which I've listened with for years and they gave me a basis for comparing it to my collection of mp3 players.

The packaging promises a lot: in addition to MP3 music, you get Bluetooth connectivity, videos, pictures, audiobooks, and FM radio. A great feature set, and for the money, packs rather a punch.

The touch screen is simple, intuitive, and reasonably sharp and bright for it is size, it is one of the best features of the player. Most humans will find their way around this player in beneath 30 seconds, it is that intuitive.

As you connect the M300 to a Windows 7 PC, the player looks like a portable drive, and in truth it acts that way. If you want, you may just drag and drop songs. The instructions say you may use WinAmp if you want; I like using MediaMonkey as it will mechanically convert songs to the suitable format (MP3). The players instructions assert it will aid the old-style Windows DRM formatted music; as I have any copy-protect music, I didn't have an probability to test that feature.

The sound was satisfying with sufficient volume, and good clarity. The touch screen gives you the capacity to adjust the EQ to suit your music and listening tastes.

However, be careful if you fill the player completely; while it will not lock up, it will not boot up, claiming you have it too full. I had to use Windows Explorer to delete a few songs. From then on, I employed the Micro-SD slot to add to the capacity.

The FM radio is somewhat sensitive; I use it mainly to access the in-gym broadcasts of the TV sound, and it worked fine for that purpose.

Audio books work fine, provided they're MP3 format.

Video works okay provided: (a) You don't mind looking at low-res video on the tiny screen (b) you have an avi file that you would like to use that (c) may be converted to a format I'd never heard of, SVN. In fact, the converter Creative furnishes on their web site would charitably described as "in development"

Bluetooth is a puzzle to me, and one that left me most disappointed. I assumed that Bluetooth would let me connect with a computer and transfer files. To put it simply: it does not work that way. In fact, the computer will only from time to time see the M300, and when I connected, I couldn't actually do anything with it. After digging through the instructions a bit, Bluetooth is only for connecting speakers to it, or in the case of your car, if you aid streaming stereo music through your car's stereo, it works great.

Battery life is outstanding (I got 9 hours listening to music), and it charges quickly.

So what may you say in regards to this player? If you compare it to an iPod, you're actually not being fair. This player is 1/3 the price, and while it lacks the polish of the Apple product, it does everything you need it to. In fact, it is become my bestloved player for taking to the gym. The combining of low price, good feature set, wireless connectivity to cars with Bluetooth, great sound and long battery life make this worth a look if you're more concerned with usable features than style.

Provided your expected values are reasonable, you'll like this player.

NOTE: I had to upgrade the firmware of the player to improve the stability of Bluetooth. Your version may come with the most recent firmware, but if it doesn't, you may go to the Creative website. Upgrading is trivial.

We found that it was easy to load music, videos and games on from my computer - just a matter of copying files from the computer to the device. It is also easy to use once you get the hang of it. The screen is bright and crisp and it seems to be finelooking durable. My daughter loves the internal speaker (no ear buds required) and the touch screen display. The only "wishes" that we have for it are - a place to put the little "pen" on the machine, and that the touch screen were a little more sensitive. Her best friend has an I-pod Nano and was jealous of all the features that this little player has and how well it works equated to the I-pod.

Usually buying cheap things with no brand name has been disappointing for me but I decisive to take the plunge and buy it based on the reviews I have read. Rogers
This unit has a very big screen and it is very easy to see the video. I have a One Click YouTube downloader. Then I use the free software from CNET to convert it to the Media Players file extention. Then plug the Player into the computer and move the files over. I do not see how it may be any easier. There are lots of music videos on the internet ready to download. Even the highpriced media players you have to covert to their format. In fact they may be more difficult to use because of copy shelter that you do not run into on these units. If you want to download the music videos for free, then this is the one to get. It is like having a little TV in your pocket. Whatever is on TV may be recorded and played on your media player. Esp with the clear crisp digital effigy they have now. Just get a video capture card and your ready to go. Get numerous LG speakers and you may percentage your music with your friends and even look on the screen to see who is making the music. Plug them in at night and your ready to go the next day. Be sure to back up your files, because you never know when you will have to reformat & reload your computer or player. The little screen players are nice also. But this is a great deal with the huge screen and the easy to use touch buttons.

I purchased this refurbished mp3 to replace my clip+ that I had for regarding 2-3 years. It seems as if the batteries have failed so I am just replacing it for as cheap as possible. I have an 8gb card in the player so I may hold 12 gigs. It is perfective for running and I love the clip too! A great player and a great substitute to an costly ipod player or annoying itunes software. This player is drag and drop so it makes updating music as easy as it could be! I highly highly commend this mp3 player!

And the flac format sounds incredible. I like everything with regards to this mp3 player and this is in regards to the eighth mp3 player I have owned. But, other than the fun little gimmics, there is a lot of troubles to be conscious of. The mp3 does not always support the video formats that are said to be supported. At multiple times it froze when altering the volume. And most lately after an upload onto the mp3, it froze at the commence up screen and resetting the mp3 did not help. After searching in regards to the issue online, I found other persons who were experiencing the same problem. My last Samsung mp3 lasted 2 years, I was hoping this one would be similar, but it did not even last 6 Months. This product was a disappointment.

S. CRAWFORD
I purchased an iM-207 and an iM-237 at the same time, curious to see what the divergence was.
The 207 is roughly 25% littler and comes with a 1/8 to 3/32 stereo adapter, is designed to function sitting with the speaker pointing upward or will sit at a slight angle back on it is side. I think it is cash well spent- equated to the same amount I expended 3 years ago on one of those fold-up cube type dual speakers. In comparison to that fold-up cube, I think the sound is like 3 times better: quality-wise and volume-wise. The iM-207 lacks an LED that lets you recognise if the power is swapped on, so you might drain the batteries out if you forget to turn it off after you unplug your player unit. It turns on and off by rotating the outer chrome ring-not a smooth switch at all equated to a rocker, slider or push button. Now on to the iM-237: a bit more stylish than it is predecessor the iM-207 and at a price that is 130% more. It comes with a swanky padded and zippered carrying case with a mini carabiner clip and a tether that may be attached to the speaker to secure it to your wrist or hang it on the wall, it doesn't have a 1/8th to 3/32 adapter. the sound is cleaner than the 207, more specified at both ends and having little impact to listen to and has more volume. I wouldn't say the sound is twice as good though- I'd say more like 40% better. I'm not an acoustical engineer and don't have the audio instrumentation to evaluate the quality on any emperical basis. The iM-237 does have a nice green LED to let you recognise the power is on and a simple push button on/off button (which is vulnerable to accidental activation) the cord hides neatly in a winder molding in the base and secures the plug well- a little too well, it's hard to get it out if you don't have long fingernails! I'd say value wise the 207 has a better quality to dollar value, nevertheless if you prize sound quality then go for the iM-237.

My friends and I were systematically impressed with the sound that came out of this little speaker; it's astoundingly deafening and clear.

I not long ago moved to a new area and I'm setting up my mobile buisness as well as residenting at a club. I've carried vinyl around for a while now. Ever since archiving technology of vinyl to digital got better i started archiving. I'm a turntablist at heart and actually can't afford shelling out a grand for more spectacular direct drive cdj's like denon's or standards like the cdj800's from pioneer.
I did a lot of exploration read reviews and actually couldn't dig up much on these. So I took a gamble. I'm glad I did. Let me hit the high points.

Scratching on this unit is cheese. you don't have to worry with regards to sample wandering around the platter. And even tho the platter's little it still feels right. If you haven't scratched on a CD player I'll tell you there's a learning curve with all of them. You just have to feel out your unit.

MP3 USB funtion. This is the greatest share of this unit. It tracks well. Picks up files fast, and never has a long lag time amidst track loads. Its pretty nice to carry my set for the night with me to the club around my neck on a couple of jump drives than it is to lug 100 plus lbs of records.

CD funtion. Very good. I've had no difficulties with the deck ejection like a former review i've read. And if you read the manual the very number one thing listed is this unit is for "Finalized" CD's. Don't make the other guys rookie mistake. CD's load fast, and do not skip. I've ran this deck on a system pumping numerous high watts with sufficient vibration to make my feet numb at the end of the night and I've never encountered skipping.

All in all these are good jump from vinyl to CD. They've got an outstanding easy layout. Versital to work into any setup. And easy to learn, and rehearse on. I do plan on merchandising up at long last to CDJ'800 or 1000, but for the price you can't beat this unit at all. I highly commend this unit to every one wanting to make the jump and looking for a good sturdy, performance competent unit.

Over all they haven't let me down and always tracked each cd, mp3, or usb format i've thrown into them.
performance wise i have no complaints for this unit.

Durability is the issue.
Both of mine have had the Cue button break and in a literal sense fall down into the case of the unit. I am improvising by using the reloop as the cue and setting cue points using loop in, or recording a hot get started to one of the 3 banks, by finding my cue point and keeping with the scratch on.

If you get this unit, you're buying a well functioning device, just do not forget it isn't built like a tank and will need to be touched easily.

I not so long ago purchased two of them and I am actually impressed for far. It came with an impressive set of features for the price and everything works very well. The unit is solid and I in truth like the overall design. The only thing that I was not pleased with is that it does not read mp3 metadata. It just shows the filename of the track. Other than that everything seems to be great! I would commend this product to other humans who don't have heaps of cash to spend and are not a fan of Serato/Itch.

All will marvel at the crystal-clear playback, intensified by our exclusive VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry), for a smoother sounding audio signal. Just as indispensable to your sonic enjoyment is Direct Digital Path, a to a great extent shielded, high-quality cable that protects the delicate audio signal from noise emitted by the surrounding circuits. Housed in a sturdy chassis graced with a brushed aluminum front panel, the DX-C390 is ready to provide hours of continuous music—for the soundtrack to your life.

  Key Technology Features:
192 kHz/24bit AD Converters: Costly, exceedingly powerful digital-to-analog converters , that not only brag a dynamic range of 120 dB, they routine info rapidly and without delay and are nearly immune to clock jitter, to assure the best possible performance from DVD-Audio, DVD-Video and audio CD.

RI (Remote Interactive): With Onkyo’s exclusive RI (Remote Interactive) system capability, you may incorporate and operate all compatible parts through a single remote control. What’s more, RI capability enables you to plainly connect the iPod® to your receiver through Onkyo’s RI Dock for the iPod (DS-A1). Your iPod efficaciously becomes another Onkyo element from which you may relish a fuller sound that just can’t be experienced through headphones. RI capability will likewise give you remote operability of your iPod for hands-off control over your digital music.

VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry): Conventional D/A conversion methods reduce digital pulse noise at the conversion stage but can’t remove it completely. Previously only found on our high-end components, VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) employs a distinctive D/A conversion circuit to win a victory over this problem. Data is converted amidst sampling points and these points are joined with analog vectors in real-time to invent a smooth output wave form. The result — a nearly noiseless, smooth analog signal based on the digital source to fetch out even the most subtle of subtle differences in meaning or opinion or attitude in your music, movie soundtracks and even MP3s.

MP3 Playback: This audio format achieves in regards to a 10:1 compression over conventional CD audio. What does this mean? You may store numerous more songs using the same amount of space. For example, a usual 650MB CD may hold more than 200 songs in MP3 format. Various bitrates grant for higher or lower quality, depending on the desired sound quality of the final recording.

I burn my own music CDs on blank CDR or CDRW media using the CD burner on my Home PC. The C-390 tracks everything I've thrown at it very accurately without a hitch. It even plays MP3 files burned onto CD. Plus the remote control unit is full featured and works flawlessly.

There are two digital connections, a digital fiber optic TOSlink and a digital coax connection on the back of the unit. I use the fiber optic TOSlink connection to my reciever. A digital connection will give you the purest output. There is also the typical analog RCA jack connection.

The only flaw I have to report is the carrousel makes a bit of a whirling noise when altering CDs. This is NOT reproduced through to the speakers but is merely low-level ambient room noise. Other than that one minor quibble I may give this CD Changer my most eminent recommendation.

Yes!!! Superb!!!
By Justo Roteta
This 6-disc CD changer from the audio experts at Onkyo is most unquestionably an unbeatable value. It's sound quality distinctly rivals that of other high-end players costing up to three times as much! The construction is very, very sturdy and the remote control is very easy to use. The sound quality is all-around-excellent with smooth and deep bass, an almost-crystal-clear midrange and a well-defined treble (highs). If you're looking for a good CD changer priced at beneath $300.00 this is the one to get.

Doubek
Well, buying this player was a mistake. We were in a hurry to find a multi-disk changer before our wedding. I always thought Onkyo was a good name and I had found some favorable reviews. The audio is fine with this player, but when it comes to 2/3 of the time it won't recognize CDs. It doesn't matter if the CDs are commercially devised or home-burned, and I keep my CDs in very good shape so it's not a matter of fingerprints and scratches. It's also interesting that if I advance to regarding track 3 until the CD is recognized and then back up to track 1 it will ordinarily work... what a pain in the ___. It's done this since day one but with the wedding arrangements I didn't have time to return it to the vendor within the primary 30 days.

Now the changer is bad, but so far attempting to get through to their support has been even worse! For 4 months I've been attempting to call in at dissimilar times of dissimilar days for the duration of their support hours. First off, I always get "your call will be answered in 59 minutes". After in regards to 30 minutes I distinctively can't wait any longer so I have to hang up. Once I let it go on for 30+ minutes than was disconnected. This morning we're up to 66 minutes (since I started this I'm up to 72 minutes) on the phone timer and they say the call will be answered in 8 minutes. If I get anyplace with them I'll update the review, but my current opinion is DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS COMPANY'S PRODUCTS, particularly this model CD changer.
