Do not get just for the camera alone
By Nicole H
I got this for my birthday and have had it for when it comes to 2 months now. At basi it was very hard to use. It comes "turned off" and you need it "on" for it to charge on your comp thru the USB port. Idk how numerous hours it took me to figure this out, almost told my aunt to take it back because it wouldn't charge *facepalm*
So i at long last get it to charge, it is very easy to put things onto the unit. Connect it to your computer and open up where it is located and there is a number of folders. I just copy and pasted the things i wanted into the right folders.
There are numerous pros/cons to this unit so it's best to recognise before you buy:
PROS/CONS
1. I think it's a good price for the GB and I use it principally for a video player/mp3 player and for that it is fine. The earbuds included are cheap and injure my ears and in fact they just broke last night so use a dissimilar headphone (and if you recognise of a good brand let me recognise because i can't seem to find one). Also, as another reviewer said, you need a headphone plugged in to get the FM radio to work.
2. The FM radio is somewhat hard to use (to find a station, scan - idk how to stop the scan lol) but once you go on a station you like you get decent reception AND you may record the song on the radio! I think this is a genuinely cool function and I haven't seen it on anything else before.
3. Video looks good on the unit HOWEVER the disc that comes with it to "convert" your videos does not work at all. But, you may get youtube videos on it by going to [...] and picking "High Quality 3 GP 320x 240" this is the only video file that works on here. Before that i tried to put MP4s on it and they won't even play.
4. There is a voice recorder on it. I have only tried to use it once. For a heap of odd reason the default is WMA when the player only plays MP3s *facepalm* so you will need to change it to record in MP3 original and you must be fine. Again, I didn't find this to be the easiest feature. When I tried to record, it basically didn't lol. But i only tried it once so i'm hoping whenever i try to again that it will work the way i want (and now i know it needs to be in mp3 format lol). Also I do have 2 files from my trial recording on my unit that does not appear when i plug it into my comp for a great deal of reason, i need to delete these items on the unit rather of through the comp.
5. The camera on this SUCKS. DO NOT BUY if you are looking for a camera. I have a 3 MP camera and I thought this would be an "upgrade" and it's not at all. There is no flash and because of that the pictures come out looking grainy unless you are in insane light (and whoever is lol).
In conclusion I would commend this to a patient adult buyer because it may be attempting at times to figure out how it works. HOWEVER, once you figure it out it is awesome. For such a cheap price I think it's a great price if you are looking for a video player/mp3 player and NOT A CAMERA
***Update 11/15/10***
This does play WMAs
I have recorded things on it now
I have likewise lost it because it is little so if you get it please do not forget where you put it!

This is just what I wanted!
By Amy Moore
This is Amy's husband Alan writing this (and I have genuinely written MOST of these reviews, to be honest) and this eMatic MP3/MP4 gadget is the bee's knees. It may do everything my cheap little prepaid Net10 phone can't do. It plays music, displays pictures, plays videos, records music straight from the FM radio, is expandable with microSD cards I already have from a Rumor 2 I applied to own, records videos, takes 5MP pictures (they are fuzzy though), and file transfers are a snap with my computer.
Here are galore helpful hints:
1) Use the silicone case or you'll get fingerprints all over the thing.
2) Use the supplied cleaning cloth to keep the screen and the camera lens clean.
3) Do not exceed 3GB of the 3.5GB storage capacity or the player will freeze up when you switch amidst apps. (camera, video, etc)
4) If you want to listen to music in your car, buy a Griffin iTrip Universal here on Amazon (about $8 shipped) and it will charge while playing not similar to most other brands of MP3 players, including Apple iPods and iPod knockoffs. (like the $15.50 one I had from eBay lately that my kids stepped on and broke)
5) Be careful of the MIC port on the bottom side by the microSD slot, if you cover it with your thumb, it doesn't record much.
Caveats, as this is not a perfective player, there are galore little issues:
a) This one I received has a little blemish on the camera lens, but you don't see it in photos. So it's a non-issue to me.
b) When charging, the player does get much warmer than usual, so don't let it charge overnight. 4 hours at first, 2 hours thereafter.
c) The internal speaker will not work with the FM radio, it insists you plug in headphones.
d) The internal speaker has the quality of a five-year-old off-brand digital camera. Useless unless you press it up to your ear.
e) It is mixing up at firstborn to learn how to navigate through the apps and the menus, but don't give up, just read the manual.
I would perfectly spend $40 all over again for this unit. Can't say sufficient how much I take delight in having it with me. Can't say sufficient how I'm glad I don't have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a cell phone that has these features. It's little sufficient to carry in a shirt pocket along with my cheap little $30 prepaid cell phone. This player has more features for $40 than some players that cost twice as much. No sense buying a $150 iPod when this does the same occupation for so much less!

PERFECT GIFT
By SAMMY BEAR
We purchased this player for our son. He is 2 years old and he loves it.
It came with a clear rubber protective skin.
It is easy to use and the picture quality is acceptable.
We have not uploaded any of his pics yet but it looks good.
One disfavor is that there is no flash for the camera.
This player is easy to download into.
You do nevertheless have to charge from a USB port on your PC for 4hrs the basi time and 2hrs each time after.
It would be nice to have a plugin charger option (I guess I may find a generic online).
Another disfavor is that it IN NOT a touch screen.
The player does have a elaboration slot for SD mini in addition to the 4Gig built-in memory.
The external speaker is not too earsplitting and is clear.
Our son uses the speaker rather of the earphones it came with.
However, overall it is a good buy.
If a 2 year old may operate and navigate this player, any person can.
What more do you suppose for the price
Our family loves it!
